Russell Nuss

Financial Planning Practice Manager

Russell Nuss commenced at Carey Group in 2010 as a Client Service Officer (CSO) in the Financial Planning team and has since progressed to Practice Manager. He is also a Responsible Manager on the financial services licence, demonstrating his dedication to improvement, efficiency, and compliance.

Haydn Van Nek

Accounting Practice Manager

Haydn joined Carey Group in early 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his long-standing career in the financial services industry. With a post-graduate background in business administration, Haydn is passionate about driving excellence and spearheading effective change management, leveraging his expertise to make a positive impact within the organisation.

Lauren Shepherd

Senior Finance Manager

Lauren commenced her role as Senior Finance Manager at Carey Group’s Townsville office in early 2024. With extensive experience in financial management, Lauren works to oversee and enhance the financial operations of Carey Group. As a member of the executive team and with a passion for digital transformation, she is eager to contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation.

Trish Weston

IT and Digital Manager

Trish joined Carey Group in 2012 and has been instrumental in overseeing the operational and IT aspects of the business. With extensive experience in managing these critical areas, Trish is dedicated to driving efficiency and innovation, using her expertise to support the organisation’s ongoing growth and success.

Kristian Demian

People and Culture Lead

Kristian joined Carey Group at the start of 2025, bringing over 10 years of experience in Human Resources. Having worked across all pillars of the employee lifecycle, such as recruitment, HR business partnering, and HR leadership roles, he has led complex HR projects, negotiated enterprise agreements, and provided strategic advice on key industrial relations matters. Originally from Victoria, Kristian moved to Cairns in 2024, eager to contribute his expertise to a locally based organisation.
